Promoting Sustainability at Work

Recent years have introduced the concept of 'corporate citizenship'; the recognition that companys' greatest results, in relation to their relationiship with the community at large, are achieved when diverse sections of society are allied to profitable companies. This is closely related to the concept of 'corporate social responsibility' which promotes economic, social and environmental sustainability by corporations in all activities.

The easiest way for the average business to contribute towards environmental sustainability is to reduce its ecological footprint by ensuring that materials used are not only recycled after use, but that supply of such materials is, itself, from recycled goods.

It is estimated that nearly 4 billion trees are harvested each year for paper products. This is 35% of all tree harvests. While just over 15% of this harvest comes from tree farms specifically operating for this purpose, 16% comes from second growth and 9% continues to come from old growth forest which are impossible to replace.

We help our customers reduce their ecological footprint by sending all shredding materials to be recycled. Through your partnership with IDSS you are not only ensuring that your own paper products are securely destroyed and recycled; you are also helping to provide the materials that end up as recycled products available for sale to the next consumer.

Our schedule shredding program keeps unwanted paper out of landfills and provides the materials for new products.
